Our achievements

The main work of this department is to formulate and implement the annual agricultural extension plan at the upazila level. In order to meet the food and nutritional needs of the growing population from the diminishing cultivable land, the production of rice, wheat, corn, and potatoes including vegetables has been increased in Tahirpur Upazila of Sunamganj district in the last three years through the transfer of technology according to the needs of the farmers.


  • The production of rice in financial years 2017-18, 2018-19 and 2019-20 is 65800 MT, 66000 MT and 66500 MT respectively. The production of wheat is 272 mt, 275 mt and 278 mt respectively and the production of maize is 1228 mt, 1234 mt and 1236 mt respectively.
  • A total of 3600 farmers have been given hands-on training on modern technology.
  • 40 thousand 4 hundred and 60 agricultural materials assistance cards are prepared.
  •  In 2019-20 FY 2019-20 the amount of land of 1250 farmers receiving incentives in Ufshi Aush paddy is 1250 Bigha.
  •  224 family vegetable and nutrition gardens created in FY 2019-20 (1 century each)
